Great News on the Refurbishment of the Mengham Park Play Equipment!

After a delay caused by concerns from one of the 400 residents we consulted about our scheme, the contract with our play equipment provider, PlayDale, has now been signed. We have tweaked the design slightly to address these concerns, but can now tell everyone that the equipment is on order!

We have approximate dates for your diaries.....

End of May 2015 - work will start at the park.
Mid July - work should finish at the park.
If all goes to plan, we expect to have our Grand re-opening on Saturday 1st August 2015.

Family Fun Day at Hayling Community Centre

Come and join us at the Hayling Community Centre on Saturday 16 May for a FREE Family Fun Day, sponsored by Southern Co-op.

Southern Co-op has chosen Play Parks for Hayling to be the 2015 recipient of their Community Support Scheme Award and already nearly £8,000 has already been raised. Every time you use your Co-op card at their store in Elm Grove, it puts a few more pennies in our fund, 100% of which will be used to improve play facilities in Hayling's parks so please, make sure you use your card every time!

News Update - March 2015

The Southern Co-op have told us that since their collection for PP4H started in mid December, they have allocated £6,734.13 to us from their Community Card. We will hope to get an update from them every couple of months.

We will not receive any money until December, or when the target of £25,000 is reached. Our website thermometer has risen to reflect this amount.

They are having a Family Fun Day on Saturday 16th May this year to promote the Community Card and their involvement with us. This will be at Hayling Community Centre between 12noon and 3pm.

Piranha Live Supports PP4H!

Exciting news for us at PP4H.

After a meeting this morning at The Piranha Bar, with Clare Satchwell and Claire Wonacott. We are thrilled to tell everyone that we are the good cause that will be supported this year by Pirahna Live.

This three day music and family event, has something for everyone and is a highlight of the summer events on Hayling.

The event is on the weekend of 17-19th July 2015 at The Pirahna Bar at Sparkes Marina.

More details of the music lineup and programme of events will follow.

A HUGE Leap Forward for PP4H!

Typical understatement from Leah Turner :

"After another good meeting, we have decided on our Play Equipment provider, unanimous decision I am pleased to say. Our Open Spaces contact at Havant Borough Council will now take over as Project Manager for us. I'm delighted to say that the design the local children liked most is the one we can been able to decide on, aking into account all factors, price, play value etc.

Moving into 2015.

We have received three further donations to our Play Parks Fund, since our bids were successful before Christmas.

Our Santa Sleigh collections raised £493 in total, thank you very much The Lions Club of Hayling. We have also had donations from Steven and Shelia Schrier and from a Mrs Wheatley.

Any and all donations are gratefully received and will help to swell our total in the PP4H account.

Happy New Year!

More Good News!

More great news!! Back in August we put in a bid to the Veolia Environmental Trust for £35,000 towards our Play Park project. I spoke to them this morning and although I have not had this is writing yet, it looks as though our bid is successful.

There is still some paperwork and contracts to sign, but I would hope that we might receive this money by March next year.
